PanopticonNYC is the home for Christopher Piazza’s work as a director, director of photography and writer.  Piazza has been directing and shooting for over ten years, and has worked on major network television shows, stadium sized live concerts, broadcast commercials, independent webseries, and everything in between.

Piazza has directed branded content for Grubhub, Titos Vodka, and World Central Kitchen and commercials for the USDA and Ad CouncilAudi and Volkswagen.

He is the director of the music series Live From My Den presented by The Artist’s Den, featuring artists such as Foster the People, Aloe Blacc and Sebastian Yatra, and has also directed branded content music shows for Grubhub, Tito’s Vodka and World Central Kitchen. He has also directed visually dynamic music videos that have appeared on MTV2, MTVu, Much Music Canada.

His short films Baby Won’t You Please Come Home and Olfactory played at over a dozen film festivals a piece. Baby Won’t You Please Come Home was a semi-finalist for Oscar qualification and the winner of the audience award at the Bermuda International Film Festival.

Most recently, he has finished post-production on an ambitious comedy special / sci-fi film called Disingenuous for Andy Kaufman award winning comedian Nick Vatterott. 

His work as a director of photography ranges from commercial to television to live music. Piazza has DP-ed over twenty episodes of the FYI original series Tiny House Hunting, and has also shot for Househunters International and Selling NY. He also shot a series of over a dozen national ads for DirecTV, and has DP-ed numerous internet based pieces of commercial content for NikeeSurance, Heineken, Pandora Radio and many other brands. Piazza has also DP-ed twenty-plus episodes of the PBS live music series Live From the Artists Den for artists such as Robert Plant, The National, Elvis Costello, Vampire Weekend and many more. 

As a camera operator, he has focused mostly on live music, having been a part of hundreds of live shows for artists such as BeyonceEminemColdplay, Pearl Jam, Kendrick Lamar, Dave Matthews Band, Travis Scott, Bruce Springsteen and many more.
